I'm Sara and, together with my sons and their dad, I live in the North East, in a truly lovely part of the UK.

I feel very lucky to have two such beautiful boys in my life - plus their dad, of course.

But sometimes life just rushes past and we don't always stop, savour and remember the little things.

I don't keep a diary - I never have - so I hope this blog, focussing on A1 and A2 and particularly the youngest's first year at school will give me chance to record some important moments that would otherwise fade in the memory.

I worked as a journalist for most of my life with local newspapers so I enjoy writing. Now I run two businesses, Tall Tales Puzzle Parties and Tall Tales Learning Adventures, based around children's activities and children's parties and inspired by A1.

As for the blog's title? Well, if you're wondering, I was nearly 43 when A2 arrived in our lives and since he's starting school now that makes me a little bit older too. I can't say for sure I'm the oldest mummy waiting at the school gates for the reception class to be sent home but I reckon it's probably more likely than not. I don't think I look it though!

I can't begin to claim that being older makes me any wiser though so don't expect too many pearls of wisdom!
